Memberships

We need your financial support to continue our mission of preserving the history of Rabun County and surrounding areas of northeast Georgia. A substantial portion of our funding is derived from membership dues. So we urge you to become a member today. The Society is a 501(c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code, making your membership dues, as well as any donations you make, fully tax-deductible. You can become a member online by clicking on the “online” tab below and paying securely with a credit card or PayPal. You also can become a member by mailing the membership form to us with your check. Note: PayPal fees are included in the online prices.

Our quarterly newsletter, The Vintage Rabun Quarterly, (link to newsletters in gallery) is mailed to all Society members. The newsletter features articles, photos and Society news and updates. If you move up to donate at the $100 or $150 levels, you also will receive a framed historical photo. Those who donate at the $250 level will receive a book (which one?) as well as a framed photo.

Gifts: Tax-Deductible Donations of Your Artifacts

We are always seeking new artifacts, photographs and historical records for the museum’s permanent collection. Virtually everything on display in our museum has been donated or loaned by individuals throughout this region. If you would like to donate material, its value will be fully tax-deductible, since the Society is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization under the Internal Revenue code. Bring your artifacts to the Society’s museum at 81 North Church Street in downtown Clayton, and we will determine whether it can be accepted. If it is, we will provide you with the necessary form for your income tax filing. We are also happy to accept materials you might want to loan to the museum. Whether donated or loaned, your artifact will carry your name on the museum display.

Volunteer: We Need Your Help

The Rabun County Historical Society is an all-volunteer organization. The generous donations of time and skill by our dedicated volunteers make possible everything we do. A wide range of volunteer opportunities is available, from staffing the museum to organizing and cataloging our inventory of artifacts. No specialized knowledge is required. We will find a job to suit your interests and skills. To volunteer, please contact us at 706-782-5292 or by email at rabuncountyhistory@gmail.com
