The Rabun County Historical Society has an extensive collection of historical photographs that we consider to be our most valuable asset. Only a portion of our photos is exhibited here. Our mission is to preserve and share the history of Rabun County. One way we do this is by using our photographs in displays in our museum, in our newsletters, in the weekly Rabun Memories feature in The Clayton Tribune, on our website, and on our Facebook page. We purchased some photographs from the Georgia Archives collection and from local photographers and collectors, but most of our photographs were donated by local families.
Many of our photos are unidentified, that is we cannot be certain when or where they were taken or we cannot identify people in the photos. If you find errors or if you can elaborate on the text included with the photos, we welcome your comments. Images from your photo collection could be displayed here, too. We are always looking for photos that would be of interest to visitors to our website.
Photographs appearing on this website belong to the Rabun County Historical Society. Photographs may not be copied or printed from the website. Written permission from the Rabun County Historical Society is required to publish or exhibit the photographs. The following credit line is mandatory: Rabun County Historical Society.
