The Golden Age of Rabun Tourism

The

From the late 1880s until interstate highways and air-conditioning changed habits and destinations, Rabun County’s beautiful scenery and delightful climate brought visitors by train and car loads. Although tourism is still a major economic boon, hotel rooms in 1910 no doubt exceeded today’s numbers.
